Girl Power, Glamour and Good Vibes: Women's Day at The ReZident

Main character energy? We understood the assignment!

With a dress code of Black, White & Bold, our Women's Day celebration at The ReZident was all about stepping into the spotlight and owning your confidence.

From beauty treatments to inspiring conversations and surprise giveaways, our afternoon of beauty, glam and wellness was all about making the incredible young women in our community feel seen, celebrated and empowered.

A Little Glam Goes a Long Way

Who doesn't love a little pampering?

Mobile make-up artists from Hayley Joy Artistry brought the glamour with a makeup masterclass, complete with beauty stations and an expert tutorial to help our ladies brush up on their makeup skills.

But the glow-ups didn't stop there!

Lash Nook and The Mobile Beauty Box treated our guests to lash extensions and professional brow threading. Because sometimes a little self-care is exactly what you need between lectures, assignments and deadlines.

Good Food, Good Mood

Of course, feeling fabulous isn't just about what happens on the outside.

Registered dietician and nutrition coach Jade Russouw joined us for an insightful session on the connection between food, mood and nutrition. She also showed us how easy is to prep simple, healthy and nutritious meals without blowing the budget.

Speaking of food, Confection Connection kept everyone well fed, Sweet Palate spoiled us with decadent doughnuts, and ChocNotes Chocolates added a personal touch with chocolates specially made for our ladies.

Big Dreams and Inspiring Women

Women's Day is about more than looking and feeling good. It's about celebrating how far we've come, supporting one another and recognising the incredible potential of the women around us.

Our multitalented MC, Thandeka Dladla, brought the energy, keeping everyone entertained, engaged and inspired. A businesswoman and musician, Thandeka even treated our guests to a musical performance.

We also got to hear from The ReZident's co-founder, Lynn Miller, who shared her personal journey from being a student at UCT to where she is today.

Her story was a reminder that the young women sitting in lecture halls today are already writing their own futures. Whatever their chosen field of study, they have the potential to become tomorrow's entrepreneurs, innovators and leaders.

Handbags and Happiness

What's a celebration without a few surprises?

One lucky student walked away with an extra special blue handbag courtesy of Swarovski, while six others received beautiful handbags from Cellini Luggage.

Still, the real highlight wasn't the giveaways or pampering. It was seeing our community come together to celebrate, uplift and empower one another.

But don’t take it from us. Let’s hear it from our guests:

"I have never felt so beautiful and special all at once! This has honestly been one of the best events I've been to!"

Another shared:

"Genuinely feel so grateful to have been sat in the same room with incredible women."

Here's to the Women of The ReZident!

At The ReZident, we believe student living should be about more than having somewhere to study and sleep. It's about making connections, creating memories and being part of a community that cheers you on.

To every young woman who joined us, thank you for bringing the energy, laughter and beautiful spirit that made our Women's Day celebration so special.

Remember, you're the main character in your own story. Own your confidence, own your future and never be afraid to step into your spotlight.
